I had the opportunity to spend time sitting with people of Malaysia in Jalan Bukit Bintang to jointly enjoy our favorite leisure time activity - watching a football game! We watched the Malaysian team against Vietnam and so qualify for the final two stages of the AFF Suzuki Cup against Indonesia. At that time, I feel not only a prime minister, but also a sports fan is - that we will see a big change for Malaysian football.
This has been reinforced by the line of young players, the football team Malaysia last night, now Suzuki Cup. Our players have displayed that discipline, teamwork and dedication are the ingredients for success. If we continue to work based on these values, we can propel Malaysian football to greater heights. Congratulations to the team trainer and Tigers of Malaysia on this great achievement!
We have enjoyed some significant success in sports this year, including outstanding achievement in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and the Asian Games in Guangzhou. With the success so difficult to achieve in the game of football made this year so memorable for Malaysian sports.
The spirit of 1Malaysia, People First, Performance Now was exhibited with great pride not only by the players on the court, but by millions of cheering supporters who gave courage to the Malaysian team success. Let us together continue to support Malaysian sports teams with pride, not only by the time they tasted victory, but also on their time dealing with disappointment, as our athletes, both men and women, desperately needed our support. In the meantime, I hope you all will be happy to enjoy the holiday on Friday to celebrate our success and so celebrated the arrival of the new year is expected to be more successful. Best wishes!
